MPOG QI is governed by the Quality Committee, comprised of providers and QI experts from across the US and Europe. This group meets both electronically and in-person at collaborative meetings to review and determine the feasibility of new measure proposals and all other quality improvement efforts. The Quality Committee is open to anyone who would like to participate. If you are an anesthesia provider and your organization is interested in learning more about MPOG QI, please contact the Coordinating Center to join.
MPOG Quality Measure Review
To ensure MPOG quality measures remain current and relevant to anesthesia best practices, we have established a measure review schedule to assess existing measures every three years. Two quality committee members from different institutions are assigned to each measure. Our goal is to leverage the vast experience of quality champions and gain expert consensus among the MPOG quality committee for measure modifications based on review of recent literature. Reviewers will make one of the following recommendations (with supporting evidence) and present their decision at a quality committee meeting:
- Continue measure as is
- Modify measure
- Retire measure
Considerations:
- Reviewers will be de facto members of MPOG Quality Improvement Measure Workgroup
- Coordinating Center will not assign more than 2 measures per Quality Champion
- Coordinating Center team will assist reviewers as necessary to complete review process
