MPOG App Suite ReleaseJune 2026
How to apply the upgrade:
The upgrade package will be sent to each site’s IT contact.
o For sites using Desktop Virtualization (e.g. Citrix), your IT team will upgrade the App
Suite.
o For sites where the App Suite is installed on PCs, your IT team will distribute the installer
to each individual to download after the database upgrade has been applied.
Once you receive the installer from your IT team, click the link and follow the
instructions in the Setup Wizard.
After applying the upgrade, please confirm that you are using the current version by clicking
‘About’ in the upper right corner. If your version does not match the below screenshot, please
contact support@mpog.zendesk.com.
INFRASTRUCTURE
For sites that have more than 1 instance of MPOG (e.g. conversion from Legacy MPOG to Import
Manager or EHR Conversions), Legacy MPOG_MAS databases can now have their handoff
processing disabled via an entry in the dbo.Settings table.
Specific locations within an Import Manager database can now be limited to a defined date
range, allowing sites to retire subsets of their data based on location. This enhancement was
developed to support facilities that previously participated in MPOG but have since closed or
ceased data submission, while allowing remaining facilities to continue contributing data.
CONTENT SYNCHRONIZATION
Record Search concept presets within the Case Viewer can now be updated outside of the
biannual App Suite upgrade schedule. This will allow MPOG Central staff to make updates to the
concepts included in the presets as needed. These updates will now be distributed to sites via
Content Synchronization.

CASE VIEWER
Case Viewer Case Search:
o
‘Find a Specific Case’ renamed to ‘Find a Patient/Case’. The functionality is unchanged,
and users can still search by either patient ID, MPOG Case ID, or MRN.
o
‘Browse for Cases’ search filters no longer search automatically, allowing users to more
easily filter by multiple criteria. Select all filters required for your review, then click on
the ‘Search’ button. This allows for one search to be completed that includes all relevant
filters, decreasing the wait time.
o
Case date search filter now includes the end date. Previously, the end date stopped at
midnight and did not include cases from that day.
o
Patient Attributes data is now included in the preset search filters under Browse for
Cases.
o
Under Browse for Cases, Gender has been renamed to ‘Sex (Sex Assigned at Birth or
Legal Sex) to improve clarity.
Case Viewer Banner:
o
Updated the Demographics Banner to include emergent status. This will display the
value mapped to MPOG Concept 70142Assessment and Plan - Emergent Status’.

Case Viewer Chart View:
o
Added temperature concepts 3050 ‘Temp 1 Unspecified Site’ and 3051 ‘Temp 2
Unspecified Site’ to the main graph. These selections are disabled by default.
Case Viewer Administrative tab:
o
The Administrative tab has been removed and replaced with two new tabs:
Demographics and Location Timeline.
o
Case Viewer Demographics tab: This tab includes patient demographics and patient
attributes data. For sites not submitting Patient Attributes data, it will display ‘No Data
Found’ next to the category.

o
Case Viewer Location Timeline: This tab includes Location Mapping and ADT
(Admission/Discharge/Transfer) timeline data. Note that ADT data is only visible to sites
that are submitting ADT data.
Sites that ARE NOT submitting ADT data will see this view:
Sites that ARE submitting ADT data will see this view:

VARIABLE MAPPING
When opening Variable Mapping, some sites experienced long load times and time outs. We
have improved performance for most mapping types, which will decrease load time.
Bug fix: Previously, ‘Auto Select On’ would automatically select the next unmapped variable
based on the default column sorting. When mapping while sorting on a different column than
the default, it would ‘jump’ back to the next unmapped variable based on the default column,
not the current selection. This bug has been fixed, and Auto Select should now move to the next
unmapped variable in the current list, regardless of which column it is sorted on.
CASE VALIDATION
To improve question clarity, the term ‘bolus’ has been removed from the questions, and the
intraoperative medication questions have been split into separate sections: ‘Intraop
Medications (Excludes Infusions and Fluids)’ and Intraop Infusion Medications and Fluids.’
STS IMPORT
Sites can now use csv file types for importing STS data.
Bug fix to address errors when importing STS Cardiac and STS Thoracic data.

IMPORT MANAGER ASSISTANT
In the ‘Log Viewer’ tab, the execution date range filter now includes the end date. Previously,
the end date stopped at midnight and did not include data from that day.
The grid in the ‘Overview’ tab now loads in 12-month increments, with the most recent 12
months first. This improves performance and decreases load time.
PHI SCRUBBER
In transplant cases, occasionally, the UNOS code and donor MRN are included in the procedure
text. PHI Scrubber has been updated with improved detection and removal of MRN and UNOS
codes from procedure text.
TRANSFER TO MPOG CENTRAL
Bug fix: Some sites were receiving errors when uploading PPRL/BRI. This bug has been fixed.
Retired support for the old upload method. All sites must upload data using the 11/2025 version
or newer.
BATCH MRN LOOKUP
When a file is input into Batch MRN Lookup, the output file now matches the order of the cases
given as input.
If the input spreadsheet has multiple tabs, the tool will now append a MRN column to every tab,
provided that the tab has a "MPOG_Case_ID" column.
